This DVD player is FANTASTIC!
We hadn't done a much research on different DVD players on the market and based our purchase of the Panasonic on our experience with Panasonic TV sets. We had always been impressed with the quality of their televisions, so when we found a great deal on this DVD player, we decided to take the plunge into the world of digital video.
My husband was only interested in the sound quality and hooking it up to our surround sound speakers on our stereo. We didn't think the picture would be much different than our VCR, given that our current TV isn't anything special. Boy, were we wrong! The picture is soooo much better than the VCR! And the sound blew us away!
The Panasonic RV30 was very quick and very easy to set up and has been extremely user-friendly. I have to admit that we didn't really read the manual before operating it. It didn't matter. The remote is actually set up in a logical fashion and we were able to figure out everything quickly and easily.
My brother-in-law has an RCA DVD player, which is the only other one that I've had experience with, but I like the Panasonic better. It's easier to set up and use and seems faster to me.
We probably would not have purchased a DVD player at this time if we had not found such a great deal. In addition to that, Panasonic is offering a rebate (11/00-1/01), so if you buy this, don't forget to look up the rebate offer on their web site. It's a FANTASTIC product!
