If you've been avoiding the purchase of a DVD player because of the cost, the Pioneer DV-333 is the one for you. A mere $225 at Best Buy will get you this incredible player, which comes with some very nifty options.
The player itself is very light. It hooks up easily to your television, the cords are all included. I was even able to hook up my VCR at the same time, so that I could record other things and play my VHS movies. The player has a blue light display, but remains dark when it's off - so you don't have both your VCR and DVD clocks blinking 12:00!
The remote control comes with batteries, and works right away with absolutely no programming. The left/right and up/down buttons are large and marked with an upraised dot, so you can maneuver through the menu in the dark. The enter button is prominently placed right in the middle of those four buttons for ease of use. The menu button is the same size as the other buttons, and it's in the middle of a row - so you pretty much have to memorize where the placement is to use it easily. The remote has no lights, so memorizing where all the buttons are is just about what you have to do to use it in the dark.
The picture quality is so wonderful, that it makes movies I've seen before look brand new. I didn't know that my television was capable of such resolution - it took the DVD player to bring out its best in picture and in sound. You can hook this DVD player up to your stereo as well, if you want even better sound than your television can provide.
Pioneer's DV-333 DVD player is inexpensive, easy to install and operate, and is of very high quality. If I changed anything, it would be to make the remote control display a lighted one. I am completely hooked on DVDs now, and it's thanks to being able to afford the Pioneer DV-333!
