| mbmattson's Full Review: Sony DVP-S360D DVD Player |
My Husband and I have been using our old fashioned VCR for
many years now. Everyone we knew had a DVD player and as
we watched movies on their systems, we realized how much
better the quality is when using DVD's compared to video
tapes. The thought of paying more for DVD's was not
appealing, but we could tell how much better they were
to watch. We loved DVD's and would even rent them and
watch them on our Compaq computer! We knew we would
have to break down and purchase a DVD player soon.
We are sure glad we picked the Sony DVP-S360 from Best
Buy. We paid $260 for it and couldn't be more pleased with
the performance or quality. A DVD disc can play up to 8
hours of movement and still be the size of an audio CD.
The data capacity of a standard DVD is 4.7 GB.
We use our Sony DVP-S360 DVD player along with our
Sony Wega television. Between the tv and this Sony DVD
player, the picture and sound quality is superb. With this
player, you can play DVD videos, Video CD's, and Audio
CD's.
We already have a CD player and receiver, but it is nice
to be able and play CD's on this Sony as well. Yet, we
mostly use our Sony DVP-S360 DVD player for movies.
It was very easy to set up this player and took only minutes.
It comes with connecting cords, but we had to purchase an
S video cord.
Some features of the Sony DVP-S360 DVD player
include:
* operation sound effects for when operations are performed
* easy to use on-screen displays
* easy to load disk tray and player plays automatically
* extra operations on remote, such as go to next scene,
go back to last scene, program play, etc.
* play back control - signals on the video CD's control
the play back options.
* detailed display information on front panel
* control menu to select starting point, play scenes in
certain order, change viewing angles, change sound settings.
* other menu controls include time/text, audio language,
subtitles (English, French or Spanish), angle selection,
custom parental control, setup
displays, shuffle, repeat, etc.
* SmoothScan and SmoothSlow modes
* you can check the playing time and time remaining on the
current title, track, or on the whole disk.
* Dolby compatible - Dolby digital - Dolby surround sound
* set a password for custom parental control on certain
disks.
* player has semiconductor laser
* power requirements are 120 V AC, 60 Hz
* light! Only weighs 6 pounds and 3 ounces
I could go on and on. Overall, we love this Sony DVP-S360
DVD player and are glad we went with Sony. It is
simple to use and has not caused us any problems. You can
