| GustavusShaw's Full Review: Sony DVP-S360D DVD Player |
I love movies and watching them in the comfort of my home. But most of all I enjoy movies that are faithfully produced to give the observer the effect of realism desired to be submerged in the action. Some DVD players fall way short not surpassing the quality of some high quality VCRs. From the innovative minds at Sony however comes a fantastic DVD player, the Sony DVP-S360.
It is highly capable of overwhelming video reproduction as well as sound. From what I have observed it possesses the ability to pull the user in by the throat and not let him or her go until the unrelenting wave of action stops. Explosion after incredible explosion the floors shake and the seat in which you sit upon resonates violently. The Actors seem to be right behind you or in front of you as they speak their parts in dialogue that is so crystal clear every word and sigh is heard with incredible clarity.
This DVD player has to be tried on a digital dolby full logic surround sound system to really have an appreciation for the sizzling hot sound quality and reproduction. The picture quality is not far behind the sound quality. If you want the actors, backgrounds, environments, surroundings, and attire to look life like, this DVD player gives you the effect of being in the movie from a 3rd person point of view. The actors and clothing are seen in unbelievable detail and precision. The blemishes, imperfections, and perfections are noticed with startling depth and crystal clear clarity. The backgrounds and surroundings are equally as impressive allowing the user to see detail only imagined in a home theater set up. The very lines, pitting, and groves in the concrete of the side walks, leaves, walls, bricks, and many other backgrounds can be seen with astonishing detail.
This is one hot DVD player worth ever bit of the money. It has 10-bit DACs running at 27MHz for unbelievable sound reproduction. It also has super smooth slow and fast forward modes which allow the user to view frame per frame any image either fast or slow. Equipped with a special tilt stabilizer, it can play liquid smooth and precise from any angle. This is top of the line when it comes to DVD players and for the money the quality is well worth it.
