Pros: Simple and functional
Cons: Limited number of macro buttons
The Bottom Line: I'd buy another Vl-900 any day. As for the other Sony remotes, I would look carefully before you buy.

| bertwief's Full Review: Sony RM-VL900 Remote Control |
I have three Sony remote controls--the RM-VL900, the RM-VL1000 and the RM-AV3000 (from the least to the most expensive.) Surprisingly, the remote I like the best and find to be the most functional is the inexpensive RM-VL900. It is very easy to program, and with the ability to reprogram buttons, it can handle most of your stereo AV needs. The VL1000 has an added LCD screen with side buttons, but the placement at the top of the remote makes their use awkward. In addition, the back-light is on the weak side. The AV-3000 is at first glance very appealing. However, using a touch screen is more difficult than using buttons and with all the finger touching the screen quickly becomes a mess. In addition, the back lighting is poor and this decreases the usefulness of the touchscreen even more.
