Pros: Easy to operate, large clock on front
Cons: Lacks many "bell and whistles" that some people might desire.
The Bottom Line: This is a good, economical VCR. If you just want basics, I would highly recommend this model.

| jstancil's Full Review: Panasonic PV-V4520 VHS VCR |
Having recently purchased a new television and a new DVD player, I decided to complete the cycle with a new VCR, replacing our ancient one that wasn't doing too well. I found a good price on a refurbished Panasonic PV-V4520 at auction on UBid. I placed a bid for the unit, not really expecting to win, since I placed it very low. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that my bid of $46 was a winning one.
The first thing that I noticed about this unit is it's very light weight, under 8 pounds. Our previous VCR was much heavier. But the light weight is not an indication of cheapness.
The VCR was very easy to hook up to the TV, we had no problems doing so. Upon turning the unit on, it automatically entered the "one-time VCR setup," mode. This part was a breeze, all you had to do was follow the simple instructions.
Playing and recording on this unit are simple operations, made easier by the VCR Plus feature found on many units today. The remote that comes with this VCR is a universal remote, handling TV, VCR, and DSS or Cable. The remote is backlit, which helps is dim situations. In addition to the usual features, this one does have an eject button, which I consider a nice plus.
The quality of the picture produced by the Panasonic PV-V4520 is excellent. Likewise, the quality of the recording done by this unit is highly recommended.
All in all, we are very pleased with this purchase.
