Pros: The macro programs are perfect for people who can't figure out multiple remotes.
Cons: None so far.
The Bottom Line: This is the perfect universal remote to replace the confusion of multiple devices' remotes. It's easy to customize and VERY simple to use.

I bought this for my dad, who refuses to touch computers and gets frustrated with the 6 remotes my mom has accumulated for her home theater system. The reviews here sold me on this one. It has been great! I had all of the devices PLUS a couple of macros programmed in about 45 minutes (on a system I'm not too familiar with).
Best of all, my dad LOVES it. My mom can't get him away from "her" TV now.
One very pleasant surprise was to find that each device button (like TV, for example) can be pushed once to switch the remote to that device's remote or can be held down for two seconds to run a macro associated with that device. I set up the TV button so when my dad holds that down for 2 seconds, the receiver comes on and changes to TV input, then the TV turns on and leaves the remote in TV mode. The process repeats (turning both devices off) when he holds it down again. This type of program was the whole reason why I got this remote, and this macro does NOT count as one of the 3(?) macros on the macro buttons.
Unlike any other universal remote I've ever used, you can set this one up to be function-based rather than device-based. That is, you can set it up so in "DVD-mode" (for example), all of the DVD player's controls are available but the volume buttons control the receiver. On any other remote, you'd have to change from DVD mode to receiver mode to change the receiver volume.
My mom has since programmed other macros for watching DVDs (turns on receiver and switches to DVD input, turns on TV and switches it to receive the signal from the DVD player, turns on the DVD player, then leaves the remote in a mode where the remote controls the DVD player and the sound on the receiver) and for watching VHS tapes. If Mom can program this, it has to be fairly easy.
