I've had these for more than a year and they have performed very well.
First - acoustically they sound excellent.
Comfort - very comfortable for long listening sessions.
Rugged design - they've held up pretty well considering that I've taken them to the studio, a few remote recording locations and they've been carried with various musical equipment on top of them. They've held up very well!
Comfortable self adjustment for the size of your head - a definite plus.
Cable only on one side - if you're a recording artist you'd definitely appreciate that!
Good technical support and all parts are replaceable. I've had to recently talk to their customer support regarding ordering parts for an older AKG pair of headphones- they were very courteous and the order delivery was timely and accurate. They definitely know their products!
The only serious complaint I have regarding these headphones is that sometimes they are not loud enough on some headphone amps or let too much room sound in , especially with a hard hitting drummer in the room.
Sound quality is pristine - if you like to listen to music in detail, these will definitely do it! I find them great for mixing music and actually use my room monitors as second reference now instead of the opposite.
Another gripe I have is with the price - there are cheaper and similar sounding headphones in the $40 range but if you're buying something that will last and have replaceable parts for it, I guess it is worth the money. I definitely don't regret getting them.
I would definitely recommend these to anyone professionally or semi-professionally recording or mixing music. For live use they might be too bulky and too open to outside noise, so you might want to go with sound isolation headphones, but otherwise these cans will deliver.
No wonder these headphones are the industry standard!
