Pros: Crystal clear
Cons: Too expensive, may slide off when moving, lacking in bass
The Bottom Line: Very disappointing overall sound for the money. I expected more bang for my buck. Comfortable, but I would never sacrifice sound quality for comfort-one must suffer for one's art!

| amcduffie's Full Review: AKG K 240M Professional Headphones |
I have spent several nights studying various headphones and their reviews in search of the most well rounded set for the money. I have purchased so far, the Koss TD/80s, Koss KTX PRO1s, and AKG K 240 Ss. I have shopped several others-Grado, Sennheiser(too scared to plunk down $300.00 for the HD600s), Sony etc.
The AKGs seem too bright and tinny for my taste. As a product of the 80s metal invasion, I guess I prefer more bass with my treble. I never knew what people were talking about when they spoke of "ghosting" in music, but I think I have an idea now. They are very, very clear(at low levels), but basically, thats it. No "wow", no amazement, just an indifferent perplexed feeling of dissatisfaction.
They come with a generous amount of cord and an adapter for 1/4" jacks that screws onto the 1/8" tip-both gold plated.
I must add-they are extremely comfortable. If you do not move suddenly, you may forget you are wearing them. When I leaned over to adjust the volume, mine slid forward off of my head.
I'm sure AKG is a fine company. It is not my intent to bash them or their product. I just feel that a $100.00 set of headphones should knock the socks off of a $10.00(on Ebay) set of Koss KTX PRO1s.
