first off, don't even waste your time buying these things, in fact don't even waste your time giving 'em a listen; these are perhaps one of worst sounding (expensive or otherwise) headphones around. period.

i borrowed a pair when they were first introduced. when i first listened to them, i couldn't believe what i was hearing - they sounded very poor. i thought maybe they needed to be "burned in" so after a whole month, 24hrs a day, absolutely nothing changed. bass was non-existent, midrange muffled, top end piercing. they had a very plasticy sound to them. i've used various akg's past and present and thought most were at least ok; the 270's are/were the worst akg product ever produced.

quite frankly there isn't much else to say about them; the akg's fail miserably both in terms of audiophile qualities and pro-user qualities.

a ghastly showing from one of the more respected (pro-user) companies around.
