| Todd's Full Review: Beyerdynamic DT 250-80 Professional Headphones |
The DT250 is a very good choice for anyone looking for isolation, durability and good sound. They are 80 ohms and efficient so just about anything will power them including portable players. However, use of a headphone amp is helpful and recommended to get the most of the 250s.
They are a circumaural, closed design providing 12-15dB of isolation. Velour type covering makes them easy to wear for extended periods.
As for how they sound, the DT250 leans slightly toward the bass but are not boomy. The mids are smooth and the highs detailed but slightly laid back. An overall pleasant listening experience, they can be listened to for long periods without fatigue.
A single sided, coiled 8 ft. cable makes using them for DJing, mixing and monitoring handy. The termination is a mini plug and a 1/4" adapter is supplied.
Overall a pretty good headphone and a worthwhile buy.
