Pros: Wonderful highs and mid-range, great features.
Cons: Bass is clear, but weak. Not quite worth $99, but worth the $50 I paid for them.

| krunchky's Full Review: Koss A-130 Consumer Headphones |
I just got my Koss A/130 headphones today, and the sound they produce is magnificent. I can hear parts of my mp3s and my games that I never could before. However, I think the bass, albeit accurate and sharp, is a little disappointing for headphones of this price. My roommate's Koss R10 headphones (retail for $50 less than these) pump out at least 2.5 times the bass of my A/130s. At high to very high bass volumes, where his R10s try to blow your head off, my A/130s distort severely.
However, his R10s can't even come close to the mid-to-high frequency performance of the A/130s. If you listen to a lot of classical music, light rock, or anything that doesn't depend heavily on a thumping bass beat, these are the headphones to buy. These are also good for multiplayer gaming, where the little sounds are important.
The A/130's around-the ear design and well-padded headband really do make them comfortable to wear for long periods, and their sound isolation is good.
One slightly odd feature that I've never seen before on headphones (not that I have seen all that many different headphones) is that their cord appears to have 4 conductors instead of the normal 2, with 2 conductors going to each earpiece.
The headband on these detaches easily from the earcups, making these nicely portable for traveling or trekking around campus. Snapping the earcups back on is a cinch, and they are quite secure once attached.
In a nutshell: These are great headphones. Everything about them is good, except for their quiet bass. Definitely recommended for competitive gaming(where too much bass, at least for me, can be a liability) and for classical and other light music.
