It most likely is shoddy but on the plus side the warranty is great. If they didnt have that then would definitely be over priced. Thanks so much for the comment!

Most headphones are made of plastic. Even the expensive ones from Sennheiser. On the other hand, no way should a $300 set of headphones start to develop cracks from normal usage. They're obviously using cheap plastic if this has happened to you 3 times.
It has been said that the quality of the Bose headphones is better than average but that they're way overpriced. I would have to agree with you that the warranty is great if they replace them without giving you a hassle over it.

My BIL has these, and you are absolutely dead on... they ROCK. The price tag becomes much more reasonable when you look at the replacement policy, however. I'm looking at yet another broken pair of $20 headphones and wondering how many I've gone through.

...that anyone who is considering a pair of the Bose Noise-Cancelling Headphones should read first before making the purchase.
You can argue over many things about the Bose Corp. but their Customer Service is simply the best...and not an issue.

simply amazing! We tried them out during our last long-range flight on Delta, and not only did it make the flight quieter, when I listened to music, it was just wonderful!

I Know! I was surprised too but they do need to have some movement available to put on your head, but I guess they couldnt find anything better than plastic.

At $300.00 I should hope that they could at least give you a nice neck massage while lulling you to sleep w/those seriously good sounding tunes. Oh well, some folks are willing to pay the price of a decent abode for the latest SUV---so what do I know anyways.-----Great review!
