cmicahjohnson's Full Review: Bose QuietComfort 2 Consumer Headphones
Sound is something that is very important to me and quite fun. Being known as the surround sound nut among my friends, I am the person normally called to set up systems and make adjustments to their equalizers.
Thanks to my wonderful employer, I have been able to sample technologies I would never purchase just because of practicality. I first ordered the Triport over ear headphones which I found wonderful to listen to. But, then I was able to order the quiet comfort 2, and wow!
They do require a battery to operate, but when you have them switched on, whether you are listening to anything or not, the world disappears. If you have them connected to a sound source, you are completely involved at every level. The reproduction is unlike anything I have ever experience - crisp treble and bass that makes the headphones move noticeably.
The noise cancelling technology does initially feel strange because of the suction created over your ears. The headphones are also very bulky, which for me, makes them better for use on a plane or relaxing at home. Though they handle an iPod beautifully, they are not practical for a trip to the lake or exercise. They are, however, very comfortable and can be worn for extended periods of time. I had the opportunity to test this on 21 hours worth of flight time on an international trip.
The only complaints I have is that it does not have a rechargeable battery (which Bose added to the Quiet Comfort 3) and the hairline cracks that continue to form in the plastic. Bose replaced them with a minimum of trouble. Because of how much I love the product, I give them the allowance of making it right.
I have never been disappointed with ANY Bose product I have experienced. I will just wait to see if they can come up with something to stop the cracks. I will be patient though.
