| Nephilim's Full Review: Koss TD-61 Headphones |
In high school I was in both band and drama, so about every other
weekend, I was on the road in a school bus, and I never forgot my
walkman or my C.D. player. Unfortunately, I had to get a new set of
headphones every month. It seemed like I went through those things like
babies go through diapers. Of course, getting tossed around in a
backpack, sax case, and clothes bag aren't the best ways to treat a
piece of electronic equipment.
And you can just forget trying to sleep with the Wal-Mart brand on. In a
hotel room with four other guys, you've got to have something to block
the snoring sounds out. But the things I was used to just didn't cut it.
Then my parents got me a set of these headphones, and WOW! It made
travel so much easier. They are great for blocking out background
noises, like those made by a snoring Bass trombone player. They've
banged around my sax case, tossed on around the bed on my head, been
thrown at me by my ex-girlfriend, and fallen off of a hotel balcony
(just the second floor). And they LASTED.
Well, sort of. I think I might be developing a short in one of the
wires. If you have the chord twisted near the plug, one of the phones
might go out. But if you untwist it, it works fine. Not bad after two
and a half years. I've used them on my portable CD player, my home set
while I sleep, and even occasionally on my synthesizer at church. And
they work great on all of them. These things were made to last a while.
