patriccatani's Full Review: Koss TD-80 Consumer Headphones
Right off the bat I'll say that these headphones have a really good sound. The bass is also exceptionally deep.
I like the coiled cord for the headphones because it doesn't drape around and get caught on things. I've tripped several times over my old set of headphones. The cord also stretches to a pretty good length when needed. Of course, the longer you stretch it, the more it'll pull to one side (happens about 3ft).
The volume controls are a nice touch. I don't have any use for them personally, but it's a nice feature for DJ's I suppose. It'd be pretty hard to lower each side equally, so you'll probably have to stick with using the volume on the player.
My biggest complaint is the comfort level. It feels okay when I first put them on, but after about 20 mins they start to hurt. These headphones don't have a wide range of motion either. Again, probably the only person who would need a lot of motion would be a DJ. You can't flip over the earpiece and listen to one side. They don't fold either.
Probably my second biggest complaint would be the sound bleeding out. When I cover the earpieces I still hear the music coming out. This means that more noise from the room bleeds into the headphones, and you're more likely to annoy those around you with your music. My last pair of headphones could be pressed together and it would be absolutely silent. While I'm on this issue, the sound also bleeds through when the volume controls are turned all the way down. Once more, that doesn't matter to most people, but from a professional standpoint that's unacceptable.
