Todd's Full Review: Sennheiser HD-490 Consumer Headphones
The Sennheiser 490 is a musical headphone. Built to look stylish and wear comfortably it is a good buy for under $100. They are easily driven by portable players. They are only 32 ohms and efficient. They will blow away the headphones supplied by the portable manufacturers. Their open design makes them ideal for office and home use but not so useful in noisy environments.
The bass is a little too forward and not as tight as I like. The mids are recessed as are the highs though both detail and smoothness are there. They are non-fatiguing to listen to and light and comfortable on the head.
A single sided cable, 10 ft long, and terminated to a stereo mini with a 1/4" adapter is supplied.
For the bass seeking listener these will satisfy.
