For those of you who want the short story, let me begin by saying that these headphones are superb. This is my second set; the first set is attached to my bedroom TV. I was so impressed with the sharp, clear and crisp sound of them that I had to have an additional set of headphones for my stereo. I have had other wireless headphones before but they sounded more or less like the ones that come with cheap radios from the 99 cent stores -- kind of like tin cans.
The Sennheisers on the other hand are high quality instruments. I like to listen to bebop jazz and fusion, the kind of music with a broad range of tones. The highs are crystal clear, and the bass is deep without distortion. There is a slight hiss if the treble is turned up too high, but that negative is outweighed by one great plus of the Sennheisers.
I live in a building that has thick cement block walls and lots of steel. With other wireless headphones, I lose the signal when I walk out of the living room (where my stereo is located.) This is not a problem with the Sennheisers. I can go from room to room without losing the signal. In some distant corners the signal breaks up a bit, but if you live in a house or other non-steel structure, you can expect the Sennheiser to live up to its promise of 100 meters of range.
The Sennheiser RS6 headphones have three alternate frequencies, which means that I can operate both pairs of phones at once should my roommate want to watch TV while I listen to music. They also come with a nice rechargeable battery, and there are two recharge stations on the base which means that with the optional extra battery I can double the 3.5 hour listening time.
The base itself has a nice low-profile so it can be seated on a shelf next to the amp or on top of a system without being intrusive.
What else can I say? I love these headphones. I love so much I bought them twice. Go get a pair for yourself.
