I've had my JVC XL-F254BK CD player for several months now and have been very pleased with it. It's simple to use, and easy to set up. This model has a 5 disc carousel tray to put your CDs in, and each one is numbered so you can easily tell what disc number each CD will be assigned. Loading the CD player is as simple as hitting open/close and sitting your CDs into the spots on the tray for them. Three of the five CD spots show when the tray is extended and to get to the other disks you hit disk skip to rotate the tray.
Once you have the player loaded with as many CDs as you want to put in it, you have a variety of options. You can simply hit play and it will start playing with the current disk. You can chose random play, and the CD player will play songs are random from all your CDs. You also have the option of repeating everything, or repeating one track over and over again. You can also chose the disk and exact track you wish to start from. All of these options are available from the CD player's face or from the included remote control. You may also program in the tracks you want to play in the order you desire, but this is only possible from the remote.
There are a few minor problems with this player. While turning Random Play on is simple, turning it off is counter-intuitive and requires you to push a different button than the one you use to turn it on. This player also seems to have problems with CD-R Audio CDs unless they've been burned at 1x speed. If you like to make your own CDs to put in your player, or like to buy bootlegs this might present a problem.
Bottom Line: This is an excellent player for the price point and is easy to setup and use. A few minor problems do little to impact the overall quality and value this CD Player has to offer.
