CDC-502 is a superb unit, and it's darn cheap.

| paul_lipp's Full Review: Yamaha CDC-502 5-Disc CD Changer |
As a music junkie operating on a jazz musician's wages, I recently replaced my ailing, loyal former sound system with a new component-based system, including Yamaha's CDC-502 5-disc CD changer. It has proven to be a superb unit that sounds great and includes any features that a home listener is likely to need.
The CDC-502 is extremely easy to use, and contains enough bells and whistles (programming, repeat, play x-change, etc.) to keep me happy. I have been using it incessantly for about one and a half years and it has proven to be reliable and durable. The only slight flaw is that with some of my older, well-worn CDs, this unit seems to be slightly less equipped to deal with minor scratches and wear, skipping with somewhat annoying frequency with discs of compromised quality, whereas some other less affordable units are more capable of not skipping. Still, I would recommend it to absolutely anyone interested in a superb CD player that is also affordable. It also works very well in combination with Yamaha's amplifiers.
