| bjgopinath's Full Review: Aiwa XP-R100 Personal CD Player |
I bought the Aiwa player because my other portable cd player died on me. I consider myself a pretty picky person when it comes to my electronic gadgets, so I spent a good bit of time deciding between the Aiwa and other models. I chose the Aiwa because it had the extra-bass, the AM/FM tuner (which is really cool), and 10 second EASS (also a good feature). And for a while it served me very well. But then after a few weeks the cover that flips up got lose and now moves around a little bit. Also, when i pick the player up and move it around, something rattles around inside; never a good sign. The sound was good quality, but I expected a little more out of the extra-bass, since it IS called "Dynamic Super Linear Bass" (kinda makes it sound like a big deal).
But all-in-all it's a good product. I really love the feature that lets you recharge the batteries while they are still in the player (using the AC Adapter). And I absolutely adore the headphones. As far as battery life goes, the XP-R100 doesn't do too bad. Like i said, the batteries can be recharged inside the player so it's not that big a deal when you run out of power. Speaking of which, there is also another feature that tells you how much power you have left using a green, orange, and red light (the light moves from green to orange to red as battery is used). That feature is very helpful in assessing how much power you have left and when you need to charge your batteries.
However, I give the product some bad points because of the somewhat-shoddy workmanship. And it did take a little longer than i thought to access the CDs when you first start it up.
