| Nutsycuckoo's Full Review: Panasonic SL-S360 Personal CD Player |
After researching this CD player on consumersdigest.com and here on epinions.com, I decided to buy it. So far I have not had any problems with it-- it plays CDs great and the sound quality is the best. (Try listening to Creed's "Higher" with it. Amazing!)
It is compact, all right, and the 40 seconds of anti-skip work well. It uses 2 AA batteries or can be plugged into an electrical outlet. And the thing that I appreciate the most is the little button in the player that you can push to pop the CD up and out, so you don't have to yank and pull and possibly damage the CD to get it out.
Mine came with this cool jogging pack that comes in handy at home, but is too nerdy to wear outside. I don't run, but it would probably help those who did.
I like my music loud, and the bass option is perfect for me. It makes the music richer and fuller. The buttons are also fairly easy to see and understand, and the CD player functions perfectly.
There's only two complaints I have. One, it didn't come with a car kit. And two, it doesn't play some of the burned CDs I have. It either plays the first half of the song then quits, or refuses to play them at all. Other burned CDs do just fine.
If you're picky about headphones, think about investing in a good pair. The ones that come with this player are cheap and don't block out any sounds around you. I recently came back from a trip to Southern California and I only heard about half of the music. The rest was lost to the sound of the tires going over the road. (But the anti-skip really works well!)
The player is a good price (I bought it at Sears for $69.88. I also plaid 7 or 8 bucks for a 2 year warranty, which is great because my last Sony CD player broke after a year) and ideal for someone who doesn't want or expect a lot of the junk that comes with the players these days. It gives you the basics, and adds on some cool extra features. Despite the cons that I have mentioned, it's still a good Discman and a good buy.
P.S. I have purchased another Discman, and the quality of it is overall better than this one. I have brought down the rating of the Panasonic Discman when I compare it to my new Philips. Read this ePinion at: http://www.epinions.com/elec-review-3C2C-321F2C96-3A5979B3-prod2
