| marmango3's Full Review: Panasonic SL-S361C Personal CD Player |
I recently decided to join the rest of the world in the wonderful technology of cds. I knew I would be spending a lot of time commuting in my car and decided a new set of midrange speakers and a quality cd player were accessories I needed. I searched high and low for a CD player that was inexpensive yet provided quality sound.
I choose the Panasonic SLS361C. After comparing the Panasonic to all the other midprice brands, including the AIWA XPV706C, I found the Panasonic to possess the features that were important to me. It has 40 second skip protection, 24 tract programming, repeat, skip/search, memory/recall, S-XBS, and hold functioning. The cd player comes with a set of hard to adjust headphones, a car jack, and a battery recharger.
The antiskip function allows the player to handle most speed bumps, railroad tracks and the occasional hard braking with ease. However, handling the machine while it is playing or even lifting it up causes it to skip easily. The player is able to withstand the gym as long as it is on a stationary surface, while you are the one doing the moving. The hold function has proven very useful for if you leave the batteries in and the machine is knocked on, it will prevent the machine from using up the batteries. At night the LCD display is easily seen and functions in progress are indicated on the screen. the unit is thin and slick allowing for easy handling and transportation.
The Panasonic SLS361C is the best choice for an midrange in price, high quality in sound portable CD player.
I purchased it at Best Buy for 69.99$ and it has been worth every penny.
