| KMDrex76's Full Review: Panasonic ShockWave SL-SW850 Personal CD Player |
I bought this product about 8 months ago. I purchased it because of the name behind it. Panasonic has been for a long time a maker of durable, great sounding portable electronics. The player has a lot of great features. I mainly got it for the 40 second anti-shock and the ability to jog with it without missing a beat. It has a very long battery life when used with the anti-shock on. I have nothing but good experience with the player. It has been through everything. Biking, jogging, or just at the beach. The orange strip surrounding the top forms a decent barrier against moisture, sand, or whatever comes your way.
What I love is the stable sound reproduction while doing extreme activities. It has never let me down as long as fresh batteries are supplied. What I absolutely hate are the basically throw away headphones. Within minutes, my ears were beginning to ache. Those can definitely be replaced however. I bought a pair of Sennheiser heaphones as soon as possible. The player sounds phenomenal now.
Anyone looking for a rugged, great sounding, long lasting portable CD player should look past Sony. This Panasonic marvel rises above all the new players of this year.
