| MarshallV.'s Full Review: Sony TC-WE305 Single Cassette Deck |
Well I wasn't really shopping for tape decks when I ran across this Sony TC-WE305 unit. I am in a band and we do alot of in-home recording so I guess eventually we were going to need something like this to produce some demos and the like.
It just so happened that the timing was right when I noticed this product. The price was right,(about 100$) and the timing could'nt have been better, (I had just recieved my Sears credit card). Well anyway, I put it on my to buy list for the near future.
When I brought it home and played with it for a while I discovered all the little eccentricities that I had looked over at the store. For instance as I browsed through the manual I noticed that Deck A and Deck B are run by independant motors which adds a little to the recording process, a little more precision.
The unit even takes in to consideration what make of tapes you are using in each deck whether it's TypeI or TypeII, which really means nothing to me but it's nice to know that they put the thought into it.
Like most dual-cassette player/recorders, you can choose either high-speed dubbing or normal dubbing. The normal dubbing selection creates a perfection reproduction, and that's fairly important for what I use it for. There's is really no apparent or distinct loss of sound when you use the high-speed which is the case with most non-professional unit.
The compatibitily is very easy to understand and very versatile, and the volume control can come in fairly handily, more so than one may think it would.
Overall I'd say that I'm sticking with this one for a while.
Thanks
