We bought our Sony CCD-TRV66 about a week after we
got our new puppy. She is like our child and we had
to have more than pictures! We needed video! We did
a lot of research and went to many stores to try out
the different brands of cameras. We kept coming back
to the Sony Handycam and ended up getting a great deal
at Circuit City on ours. This was over a year ago.

The best feature is the Hi8TM XR Extended Resolution
used for greater image detail and clarity. You get
up to 440 lines of resolution when recording. The
picture on this is as clear as we have seen. It
focuses automatically for a great shot.

The camcorder comes with a wireless remote, power adaptor
and cord, battery pack, lithium battery already in camera,
shoulder strap, batter case, and other great assesories.

When viewing our videos on the television, the picture
is extremely clear. There are options to set the time and
auto date. The telephoto and wide-angle zoom features are
awesome. I have zoomed in on things a great distance
away, and they have come out very clear.

The LCD screen is small but so is the camera. You can
watch the screen as you tape or keep it closed and use
the viewfinder instead to preserve battery life.

The camera is very light and easy to hold with the grip
strap. It films nicely on a flat surface or tripod as
well. It is simple to view your recording right after
you take it. The easy button features make using this
camera a snap. Anyone can use it easily.

There are many battery options. You can use the included
batter pack but that must be charged frequently. Other
options are using the AC power adaptor, alkaline batteries,
or a car battery charger.

A neat feature is superimposing a title onto your video.
You can select the title, color, size, and position. This
would be good if you want to add 'The End' at the
conclusion to your video. It is easy to edit your
videos when they are complete.

There is a fader function which lets you fade in and out
for a more professional appearance. My favorite is
the NightShot that let's you shoot in the dark. It works
really well and will pick up most images, even far
away. There is 6 auto exposure modes that will suit
your shooting needs. Features such as filming fast
moving objects, landscape mode, sunset, sports, spotlight,
etc.

Overall, I obviously love this camera. It is simple to
use and you can take it anywhere for a guarenteed quality
film.
