| grishulia's Full Review: Sony Handycam® CCD-TRV108 Hi-8 Analog Camcord... |
I have been searching for over a month for the right camcoder for me, I've been everywhere on the web to find the reviews for the cancoders.
Finally I handed over the $1300 to B&H and became the proud owner of this beautiful camcoder.
This little toy is an amazing product as everything that comes out of SONY but if you'd like a little more out of it you'll spend the money. The 'nessessary' options for me was the video light and I got the one with the IR, two in one $70. I also got the bigger battery, size does matter, I got the 6 hour battery $80 which will last for maybe 3-4 hours in the usual use with the light, the supplied battery is only good foir about an hour and a half tops. Another neat thing I got was the LaserLink receiver for only $50 it's amazing and a joy to use. But then I decided I needed that thing for the computer to edit the videos, so I went and got a $200 IntroDV card, just got it yesterday can't review yet and of course the bag at only $30. And finally I'm going on vacation so I had to get tapes, I got 5 with the memory chip at only $15 a pop for a total of $75 for 5 hours.
Now if I would add it all together:
$1300 - camcoder
$70 - light
$80 - battery
$50 - LaserLink
$200 - capture card
$30 - bag
$75 - tapes
--------------
$1805 plus your state tax in my case $150
And to end this boring monologue If you have the money this is the camcoder to have!!! Otherwise don't even come close to the MiniDV market and just stick with the old and sucky C-VHS for maybe $350.
