With this Panasonic camcorder, you can do everything the pros can while spending around $500 to $2500 dollars less! You can zoom up to 150x, use a large selection of digital fading and other effects, add titles and phrases to your films, and then you can watch the entire film right on the camera!
I take this camcorder with me no matter where I go, because you can never be to sure when you might need it! Here are the specs on it...
150 times Digital zoom! You can actually zoom up one-hundred and fifty times closer to anything you'd like! This is a great way to get 'right next to' wild-life animals, or famous people at bands or shows (if they allow camcorders). The picture on the camera does start to become blurred after you zoom so far up on it, but if you are in a large clearing you should have no problem zooming all the way up on something and it should still be pretty fine quality!
26 times Hi-definition zoom lens! Although setting this option (so it only zooms 26x instead of 150x) doesn't get as close as the other zoom, it is extremely high quality and you can get very great images even when zoomed all the way up! You can select from the two zooms by pressing one button!
Built in light! now if you are doing any filming in the dark, you can flip a switch and the camera instantly turns on a bright and wide-ranged light! With this on you can tape some great films, even though it may be pitch black! You can also set it to auto-on, which means that if the camera senses that it is too dark, it will turn it on automatically!
Back light! If you see to much light in the back of what you are trying to film (or not enough light), you can press the back light button a few times to get the lighting perfect!
Fading! With one button, you can instantly fade away your video clip, or ring it into view! This camera features the classic fade-to-black type of fading, which also slowly mutes the sound as it fades. And it also includes a digital fade option where you can choose from 7 different types of fading, and 8 different colors to choose from for the fading! With a little experimenting, I figured out that you can stop the digital fade when it is just a little bit faded, which can create 'frames' for your videos, and there are lots of other cool uses!
EIS stabilization! With this feature you can move the camera around, and it will still give you a clear, steady shot of what you are filming! This is a great function to use if you are trying to make a great looking video!
Full color LCD viewer! The camera comes built in with a handy little LCD screen that allows you to see what you are taping in full high-quality color! You can also use the eye-piece to see what you are taping (which also saves the battery). The LCD viewer can rotate 180 degrees around so if you want to tape something that is to high up to see what your taping, you can simply rotate the screen downwards and you can clearly see what you are filming!
Programmed recording! Now if you want the camcorder to go off at a certain time one night (say that you are away and want to have a tape of what happens at a certain time when your gone), you can enter what time you want it to start and end, and your all set!
Smart titler! The camcorder includes quite a few built in titles and phrases that you can use in your films. The only thing that I am disappointed with is I was hoping I could enter my own titles! Then this camera would have been superb!
Time lapse videos! You've all seen those shows on Funniest Home Video(or the ancient silent films)where everything moves so much faster than it should! Now you can make your own time lapse movies! It makes the video 3 times as fast (I believe). The only other thing that I wanted from the camcorder was to be able to set how fast the time lapse is. One other thing, the audio is muted while in time lapse, so there will be no sound (it would have been cool if there would be).
Home security! That's right, you can also use the camera as a motion censor! If your away from your house and want to see what your cat does while your away, you can set the security on and when ever the cat is in view it will begin recording!
Built in VCR! Right after you get done with taping, or if you made a mistake somewhere in the film, you can simply flip the power button down and view your film right from the camcorder!
Well, I listed almost all of the features found on the camcorder! In my opinion, this is the best home video camcorder available (and cheapest)!
