The cannon elph products are extremely convenient. I own the elph 2 and the zoom is great for a small camera and it takes great photos. I have captured some of my greatest and most interesting photos using the elph rather than my cannon eos rebel with zoom lens.
The easy to load film and compact size make it ideal for travel. You can carry the elph with you through crowded cities and put it in your pocket and not look like a tourist ready for attack. It is easy to change film on the fly and capture some wonderful memories. I love the 3 different size photos that you can take with the same film and the same camera, it makes it especially convenient for vacations where you want to capture the landscape in its natural beauty. I also use the camera for work, it fits nicely in my handbag or briefcase for easy access so I can take pictures for my job.
While the aps film is a little more expensive, the versatility is worth it. It is also difficult to find places that can develop the aps film in one hour, but everyone can do the film in a send out service. In fact, now that other companies are making the film and not just kodak, I am guessing that the price will become more competitive.
I am amazed at the quality and clarity of the photos and the color and detail are exquisite. The cannon elph 2 is definitely worth the price and I cannot wait to see the quality of the cannon elph digital.
