| freddyfish's Full Review: Canon Elph2 APS Film Camera |
I bought an Elph2 for my mom and wife last Christmas. Both absolutely loved the camera. Its size makes it a great companion -- not too bulky as to be prohibitively cumbersome. I have had numerous occasion to use my wife's camera and would not mind having one myself, for everyday carry.
As a professional/amateur photographer, with thousands invested in equipment, on a recent trip to the shores of Lake Michigan, I found my sunset photos outdone by this little bad boy. My wife took essentially the same photos I did and when we got the results back, I was impressed with hers, and disgusted with mine. One of the panoramic sunset photos she took is absolutely to die for.
The bodies construction is also a plus, as the camera has survived two falls from over 4 ft, with only a minor dent in the corner. Tuff (sic).
My mother recently lost hers. Guess what she's getting this year (again) for Christmas...
The only issues I have with the camera are 1). the controls are a bit difficult to function, especially if you are like me and do not have much on the way of fingernails, and 2). you do occasionally get the dreaded "red-eye."
Other than just a few minor issues, I cannot imagine wanting any other camera to fill a point-and-shoot-plus need.
