| obisan69's Full Review: Canon Elph2 APS Film Camera |
I've been toying with writing this review for a while now, but was a little intimidated by some of the other reviews already here. Yes, the expert ones. I am the farthest thing from an expert in this category that you will ever find. It finally hit me this morning--Duh, this is exactly why I should write an epinion on it, for the people like me, with no clue about photography.
I received the Elph 2 for Christmas, along with so much film that I still haven't used it all. My parents knew that I was still using a camera that I had gotten when I was about 10, and that it was at the end of its lifespan. I thought it was really cute, but I wasn't sure about it right away. I started messing around with all the features (the different picture sizes, mid-roll change, etc.) to see what it could do. This is when it started to impress me.
The next week, I took it on a trip to South Carolina with three friends of mine. I became the designated photographer of the group. From sweet little group shots to ones I am sworn to secrecy about, the pictures came out great for what I usually take. There were some red-eye problems, but even the ones I took in the middle of the night were good-looking.
Since then, I have used this camera for everything. Most of what I take comes out well, and the ones that don't are mostly attributed to my own lack of photographic knowledge.
I look forward to the events that provide good opportunities to use this camera (such as a trip I'm going on next week, yippee!). This camera is easy to use for the beginner, but has enough features to make it interesting to most people.
So go ahead--point, click, and see what you get.
