| Kyra's Full Review: Canon Elph2 APS Film Camera |
My first impression was....It's so little!
Little it may be, but don't underestimate it's technology or quality.
I just developed my first 2 rolls of film from this camera and the prints came out every bit as good as I expected them to. Especially on the shots that I used the Zoom lens.
I was in the market for a new camera to replace my Kodak Advantix 3700ix.
I knew that I wanted to stay within the APS family, but this time I wanted something with a Zoom lens and more compact.
While shopping one day, the Elph 2 caught my eye because of it's size and sleek look. I picked it up and was surprised how heavy this little guy was. I tinkered with it a little, turning it on and off, playing with the zoom lens, and I was pretty impressed. I looked at a couple other cameras but I kept on going back to the Elph 2, I was hooked!
So I told Santa that this was the camera of my dreams. I liked it not just because of how it looked and the cool sounds it made when I turned it on and used the zoom lens. But because of the advanced features such as the many different flash settings, self timer, Imprinting titles, mid-roll film change, print quantity selection, and the informative yet attractive LCD screen. How could he say no :-}
When the present was delivered I was overjoyed with the thought of never missing a "Kodak Moment" since I could carry it everywhere without it being in the way. Have I mentioned that it's so tiny! It's about the size of a regular pack of cigarettes if that. The starter pack came with (of course) the camera, a leather camera case, nylon strap, 1 battery and 1 roll of 15exp APS film. Everything I needed to get right on my photo spree!
Needless to say I love my new camera!~ It takes such high quality pictures and has ample settings to accommodate different photo situations. It also makes such a cool conversation piece, you'll find people asking you "Is that really a camera?". My husband (a.k.a Santa) says that it looks like a little toy, but he still enjoys using it to take pictures of our dogs.
The only downfall of this remarkable camera is that since it is so small, you have to make sure you position your fingers away from the lens when snapping a shot. In the instruction manual it shows the proper way to hold this tiny contraption so as not to block the picture with your finger.
Other than that I have no complaints and all praise for the Elph 2.
Happy picture taking~
