bartzone's Full Review: Canon Elph 370Z APS Film Camera
The Canon ELPH 370Z is small enough to be an elf! It hides in my pocket, my fanny/waist pack, my purse, my hand. A lot of times, people don't even realize I have it until they've been blinded by the flash!
I love the APS format, having bought my first APS camera when they first came out. I know that other film technologies have come and gone, but for now, APS is a very viable option. It is particularly attractive to a person like me who shoots a lot of film and has a hard time keeping track of negatives.
My ELPH goes everywhere and takes a beating. I am quite careless with my belongings, especially on the road, but this camera lives through it all! The metal case is a godsend. Since it usually falls to the bottom of my bag and bounces around with my cell phone and my palm pilot, it has to be able to handle it.
I got this camera specifically because I was ready for mid-roll change and zoom lenses. I love being able to use the black and white film, but never take a whole roll of shots at once. In addition, I'm able to change rolls with changing light conditions. That has been an absolute boon. The zoom has taken my snapshots to places I could never go before. The Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle is built on the premise that animals should be comfortable and patrons should see the animals if the animals want them to see them. I got so tired of bringing home photos of teeny giraffes in the middle of a field. The ELPH's zoom settings allow me to actually get much closer to my subject.
This camera would be a great camera for teens who bang everything around in their backpacks. My mission is to photograph every family event in triplicate and then get double prints. I'd have been absolutely dangerous with this camera in my arsenal!
