argonut's Full Review: Canon Elph Jr. APS Film Camera
Wouldn’t it be cool to be a spy? Get your hands on a couple fancy gadgets to let you see around corners and stand on the ceilings and hear conversations occurring a mile away and you’re in business. Sneak into restricted areas and take snapshots of top secret meetings and return to safety unharmed. Now we’re talking!
The main reason why I love Cannon’s ELPH Jr. camera is the fact that it makes me feel like I’m Ethan Hunt. The camera is so small (about the size of a deck of cards) you can easily hide it away in any pocket on your person and it's sleek design is sure to blend in with anything in your spy wardrobe. Furthermore, it doesn’t take a magician to figure out how to palm this camera so that the person next to you is entirely unsuspecting when you whip it out and * FLASH * grab a great candid shot of them picking their nose… er… I mean stealing the vaccine for ebola.
The main problem with being a spy and using the ELPH Jr, is that the picture quality is so great that you CIA boss will probably accuse you of doctoring the images on Photoshop. Taking advantage of Advanced Photo System technology, the ELPH Jr. produces pictures that are not dark and grainy, but rather clear and crisp and even make me look quite a lot like Tom Cruise. Furthermore, the Advanced Photo System film is a snap to load and unload on the fly… or while flying through the air dangling from the tow rope of a helicopter.
Extra features such as date and time stamping and Panoramic and Close Up settings give any would-be spy flexibility with turning their precious espionage into quality tabloid material if necessary. To all would-be spies out there, forget the remote controlled helicopter, ask for the ELPH Jr. for your birthday. Just be careful, you might end up having so much fun that you get yourself killed at which point, this reviewer will disavow any knowledge of your existence…
