cinderella730's Full Review: Canon Elph Jr. APS Film Camera
I have a peculiar story about the Elph Jr. I purchased my camera in NC, at a Flea Market. It was one of those "junk" tables you see here and there....I picked up this little metal rectangle and couldn't believe it was a camera!! I asked about it. The guy said that he didn't even know if it worked...he picked it up somewhere, and hadn't even had time to put a battery in it. I asked how much it was. He said, well, considering it could very well be totally broken, and cost you over $50 to fix it...you can have it for $30.00....I was like, aw, what the heck, I might as well...well, let me tell you, I put a battery and film in this little thing, and I have never been happier!! (Of course, now, I want a zoom camera)
The first test was my trip to ITALY. I took it to Italy with me, and, first of all, loved the fact that I could just put it in my pocket while we walked around that beautiful country. I took a bunch of rolls of film with me, and used up everyone....hoping that the pictures would come out ok. I was ecstatic when I got my pictures back. It looked like I hired a photographer to come along with me on my trip to take pictures!! They were absolutely beautiful, and almost made me feel like I was back in Italy again. (I wish)
Some of the things I love about this camera are....
-the fact that it's advantix, it's so easy!
-the 3 picture sizes
-the size
-the digital display on the top of the camera. you can see if the battery is low, if there's film in the camera, how many pictures you've taken, AND the date!!!
-you can also put "messages" on the picture itself. there's an option where right before you take the picture, you "tell" the camera what you want written on the picture when it is developed. there's a little sticker on the back of my camera that gives you 5 common ones. (I love you, Thank you, Season's greetings, happy birthday, and congratulations)
-when you get your pictures back...on the back of the picture, it actually has the DATE that you took the picture on it. So, from now on, I won't be looking at pictures thinking..."oh gosh, when did I take this picture...oh geez, I should have written it on the back" which I find myself doing all the time.
I can't find ONE thing wrong with this little camera...I LOVE IT!! I take it with me everywhere...which is important, now that I have kid(s) (my daughter isn't here YET, due in march) :)
The only thing I wish it had was a zoom option...maybe a package you could buy to add to it.....but, oh well...
If you are looking for a great little camera that is an advantix camera, THIS ONE IS THE ONE TO BUY!!! You won't be disappointed!! AND, when you get your pictures back, it'll look like you hired a professional to take them for you!!!
