Pros: Great "extra" features.
Cons: Delay when taking pictures and rewind seems to take a bit longer then the other model I've used.

| Rsegrwr's Full Review: Kodak Advantix 4100 IX APS Film Camera |
This Kodak Advantix is the second camera in the Advantix line that I have owned. The first camera was the cheaper 2800, which has 3 picture formats (C,H,P;later explained), automatic focus, and no text or date option. It had drop in loading and automatic rewind. I enjoyed it so much I decided that I would stay with the same line of camera's for my next purchase but I went up to the 4100ix with the text and zoom feature. It is loaded with extra's, but one thing that really confused me was that when you hit the button to snap the photo it takes a moment and sometimes even a second push to get it to take the picture. This small drawback. as we all know, is not good when snapping pictures of your little ones running around as they do not stay in a position very long. I thought that the camera itself had a flaw and I took it back in exchange for the exact same camera and tried it out. It too did the same thing. Point, Click, PAUSE, Flash...every time. After using three different camera's, same model number I decided it was a delay that you couldn't avoid. I do like the text feature and the manual zoom and of course the three formats that you can take is a nice bonus to a regular 35mm. You have a choice of (C) Classic 4X6, (H) 4X7 and (P) Panoramic 4X11. It has automatic film loading which is a welcome feature after years of having to load 35mm film and not getting it "just right". It has red eye reduction and automatic rewind. It is loaded with features I have not even used yet. I would recommend the Advantix line of products if you're looking for a camera but maybe a different model that eliminates the Pause in the picture taking process. The 2800 was not loaded with a lot of extra's but if you like a sturdy, small camera for family and vacation type photos you could really save some money with the lesser of these two or a model in between.
