I spent quite a while searching for the perfect APS camera for my needs. Finally, after months of testing and asking questions, I bought the Kodak 4100ix camera. I'd been using APS film for some time already (using the disposable Kodak cameras) so I knew what to expect... Excellent quality, great index shots, and a selection of sizes for each photo.
This camera was great - 4 levels of zoom, easy to load film, and a durable make. There is *nothing* worse than trying to feed film when the wind is blowing 30mph+ but with the APS camera, you just simply pop the film in and it's done. The whole process of taking out the old film and putting in new film takes about 15 seconds, plus or minus a minute or two to find another roll of film at the bottom of a purse or backpack. =) The camera has great features like red-eye reduction, auto flash, and auto focus - all features found on expensive cameras yet at an inexpensive price.
A previous reviewer stated that the quality of this APS camera was lacking. I found my situation to be quite the opposite. To test, I developed a roll of film from my Kodak APS, as well as a roll from a friends 35mm Kodak camera. Both rolls were developed at Wolf Camera (which is the *only* place I'll get my film developed) and I viewed the pictures side by side. Most pictures, you could not tell any difference between the 35mm and the APS. A few of the 35mm photos actually appeared somewhat grainy with a bit of blur and in many the evil red eye appeared on people. When it comes down to ease of reprints, APS beats 35mm hands down... No more searching for the correct negative!
The Kodak Advantix 4100ix is THE camera to get if you want quality pictures ALL of the time for a price that won't force you to take out a loan.
