| tiasmom's Full Review: Kodak Advantix 4100 IX APS Film Camera |
Recently my husband purchased an expensive camera and accessories. But I'll just take my Kodak Advantix though, thank you very much. I want a camera I don't have to think about. I like to take lots of pictures on the spur of the moment. This is a very simple camera and it takes great pictures. It also has lots of handy features.
I hate loading film and sometimes I mess up trying. This camera has drop in loading. All you do is open the door, drop and close. It gives you a preview page of all the developed pictures. A small copy of each one is numbered and printed on a sheet. This is given to you each time you develop film. The film itself is also returned and numbered. It makes it very easy to order reprints and see all your pictures at once.
There are three different picture formats to choose; classic, high definition, which is a bit larger than usual, and panoramic. I really prefer classic unless I really want to get a lot into a picture. When I use the HD feature on regular subjects, I often get wasted space left over. Panoramic are good for very few things, such as outdoor scenery or a long line of people. For my daughter's ballet recital pictures, this feature worked great. The zoom allows you to really get up close from a distance. The date can be printed right on the picture also. You always know exactly how many pictures are left because it's written clearly on the top of the camera. When the roll is done, the camera rewinds itself.
I'm mostly happy with the quality of my photos with this camera. I don't like the higher price of the film or development. Also, the place where I develop does not do this type film as a one hour photo option and they must be sent away.
Operation of this camera is a dream and the size is nice and small. My husband can keep his big bulky camera. This one is my first choice every time.
