| Heidiepinion's Full Review: Kodak Advantix 4700 IX APS Film Camera |
I got a new ADVANTIX camera! The Kodak 4700ix was purchased for me by my brother-in-law, after he borrowed and accidently dropped & busted my 4100ix. I am extremely happy that he had butter fingers, though! The 4700ix has more advanced features than my old one.
The stylish silver & black 4700ix is about the same size as the 4100. *It's got the 30-60 mm zoom, *self-timer to include yourself in photos, *auto-shut off to save the battery life, *red-eye reduction, panoramic, group, & classic size formats, *& the three flash choices--FILL flash (to rid of shadows in bright light conditions,) INFINITY (for maximum sharpness of distant scenery)& AUTO flash modes. But in addition, the KODAK 4700ix has some new features I like.
First of all, *the flash panel flips UP to aid in red eye reduction & reduces the chance of the flash from being blocked. *The camera turns on when this is flipped up. No fumbling around to find the ON button in a hurry!
Secondly, *the 4700ix has a LCD panel with text capability. It displays camera status (like number of exposures left, flash mode, & date/time) & warnings (such as "flash not ready" & "low battery.") *On this LCD panel you can also pick from 30 pre-programmed titles for each picture or for the index print. For example, on your vacation to Hawaii, (I could only dream!) you can select the title HOLIDAY or TRIP and it will be printed on the back of the print. Pick one title to be printed on the index print for easy access later.
I also read that an already exposed film cassette, won't work when inadvertently dropped in the 4700ix. No more double exposed pictures! My Easter pictures last year were ruined when I used the same roll of film in my 4100 twice!
I feel I'm going to be very pleased with my new KODAK ADVANTIX camera. I have just one thing left to say, "Thanks, Butter Fingers!"
