Pros: Lightweight, easy to use, convenient APS format, can use all Nikkor lenses
Cons: Limited film choices, grainy enlargements
The Bottom Line: I recommend buying it as a starter camera. It is a good introduction to SLR photography.

| aps_slr's Full Review: Nikon Pronea S Film Camera |
Right now this camera is the best SLR bargain out there. Because it has been discontinued you can pick it up at some national camera chains for less than $150. If you get it I recommend that you find the 60-180 telephoto lense before they are all gone (clearanced at about $135). I also recommend buying the Infra-red remote (about $10).
Here are the downsides:
1. ENLARGEMENTS - Aps film does not enlarge as well as 35mm because it is only 24 mm.
2. FILM TYPES - ISO 100 film is very hard to come by. It was just discontinued by Fujifilm. Kodak has it, but it is pricy. ISO 800 is newly available only from Fujifilm. Kodak has Black and White in ISO 400. Slide film is available in ASIA AND EUROPE ONLY!!! Even if you can get your hands on the slide film, there is nobody who processes it.
3. FILTER TYPES - There is a limited supply of 46mm filters. All of the basics are available, but the special effects filters must be sought out.
4. APS PROCESSING - You will not be able to develop your own film in a darkroom. It is possible to get adapters for film scanners, but they are very pricy (about $200).
