I got mine in 2000 for $200, now sells for $100. The images I get are usually pretty good, on the whole usually more consistent that what I got with my SLR.
Beware, if you use LCD as a viewfinder, because of high power consumption it's only good for 3 or 4 pictures, but if you use the optical finder, you can get lots of pics. I like the PC storage and standard AA batteries too.
I don't bother with cables, I just use the CF card.
