Darn it... (Reply to this comment)

...Kodak has discontinued the DC-210.
The one I tested so briefly at the air show had a slide button on the upper RH corner of the camera back. I did get to use that and it was incredible. The button travel was only 1/4" but the zoom looked like 4x or more...
I share your wishes but mine is a fixed focus HP C200 that has a 2x digital zoom. The LCD was illegible in sunny sky conditions. So, I could not reset zoom.
Phooey!

I did that once... (Reply to this comment)

...with the house phone. Expecting a call while painting the house, I took the receiver out and put it on the roof of my car.
About a week later, I reached for the phone and grabbed a chunk of air. Hmmm. It took hours to retrace the brilliant chain of thought that led me to do such a dumb thing. Hmmm.
Absolute blank. Then, I decided to put another coat of paint on the...........! Oh, no!
Of course, I had driven the car a thousand miles in the interim so I was not feeling very good. Hoping for a miracle, I walked out along the 1/4 mile common driveway we share with 50 others, looking but not expecting...when.
Holy _____. There it was, stuck into some chain link fence where some kind hearted person had put it so long ago.
It had landed on its short antenna and bounced at least once. No problem. It worked. Still does.
I got to borrow a Kodak to take a picture of a couple, the owners, who wanted to pose beside a P-51 at the Reno Air Races. Click. It had a manual focus but I did not catch the model number. I'll try looking for yours.
Thanks for the fun.

What a tale of woe for your poor little Kodak! You demonstrated how rugged this camera is with true finesse. Kodak should put you and your trusty camera on their TV commercials or at least give you a brand new one and place your poor little item in their museum.
Wonderful review!

This was my first camera! (Reply to this comment)

And I love it.
It may have been one of the first digital cameras out there, but mine has worked fine for about 3 years now.
And I agree with you. It takes a beating.

I have been thinking of going digital. But I'm not sure I can go without those good prints I get from the Kodak dealers.
I'll take a look at this to see what I think.

And I'm suprised this thing still works at all. It must be a well built camera.
Maybe you should check out the reviews on increased memory!!!! (Ha! Ha!)
Just kidding. I enjoyed the story.
