| daniel2345's Full Review: Samsung Evoca 140S 35mm Film Camera |
Dear consumer,
Are you looking for a camera that will make all your pictures look good? Are you tired of cameras not being good enough for you? and you don't want to buy one of those expensive SLR either. You should buy the Samsung Evoca/vega 140.
After many years with a Minolta (read my Minolta Freedom Zoom 70 review) I finally decided to buy a new camera. After days of research I found the Samsung vega 140s Date. Now, you Americans might call this the samsung Evoca 140. But I bought the European version called Samsung Vega 140s date. I bought the "date" version because I wanted to print dates in my photos. I bought the camera because I needed a new camera and I have a project in school about photography.
It took me a few hours to figure the options out. Many of the options are sorta needless, but some of them are VERY in need. I especially like the landscape option where you can take pictures of landscapes without using the autofocus. Anyway, the first film I took was mostly indoor pictures. Some of the pictures had too much colors in them, but I later discovered it was the film's fault and not the camera.
The second film I took was mostly pcitures of city skylines in daylight and houses etc. They were so sharp it was unbeleiavable. It was truly amazing! The zoom is fantastic too! It's such a great camera -it's just fantastic!
Ok, enough with the good parts. Here are the bad parts:
The body of this camera is (sigh) gold plastic. It's not very good looking, and it looks like plastic jewlery. The case I got with this camera smells like fish. And when you take pictures of people with a flash the people will complain over the extremly powerful flash; "my eyeees, my eyyes".
But who need a good looking camera when it takes brilliant pictures? and that people will complain about their eyes is hilarious! When they struggle with their "blindness" you can laugh your head off loking at them! I don't know what you should do about the fish-smelling camera case, but I'm sure the smell will go away.
Note: I do not know how well the battery lasts, I've only had it for some time.
