I bought the KE-60 because I wanted a good, cheap camera capable of producing really sharp photos. My experience so far with the KE-60 is that it is certainly better than a throwaway, but has some glaring deficiencies. First of all, the shutter button is miserable, very slow to engage, and hard to predict when it will release. The definition of the photos is maybe 20\30, certainly not tack-sharp, and the exposures are off, too dark with 400 speed, and not a good contrast with 800 speed.
The speed-load of the film is also not bullet proof, you have to get the cartridge seated exactly right for the film to advance. The flash also is too hot, whatever speed film is used, but the good news for the camera is that it is light, and not at all intimidating to use, so for a beginner who doesn't expect a lot, it's probably an OK deal.
