MasterWu's Full Review: Nikon Zoom 600 35mm Film Camera
My wife and I were going to alaska and she wanted her own camera to take pictures. She didn't like my Minolta Maxxum 5000 SLR (from about 20 years ago and it still works perfectly) because it was bulky. She wanted me to purchase a camera that was lightweight, uses 35mm film, user friendly (obviously it was going to be a point and shoot), with a good zoom lens. I researched several camera makers but decided on Nikon based on their reputation with both amateur and professionals alike.
The Nikon Lite Touch 110 is definitely lightweight but not as compact as camera that uses APS film. It is very user friendly and operates with a touch of a button. It has red-eye reduction and a zoom lens that can't be beat... 110mm. I've red on another opinion on epinion that sometimes they have trouble because the camera won't let them take the picture no matter how hard they press the button, this is probably because the lighting conditions won't let it. I've experienced it a few times but to alleviate that problem I just switch on the "flash-fill" (this function allows the flash to go on no matter what the lighting conditions are and especially if you have a bright background and without it the background comes out perfect but you can't see the persons face) and the camera takes the picture. The red-eye reducer works with a touch of a button. The camera even has a diopter for those people who wear glasses but take them off so that they can take the picture. My wife's picture came out great from alaska (well most of them because sometimes I forgot to use the flash fill).
Another great thing about this package is that it came with a test battery, film, and a camera case. It is one COMPLETE package, although it tells you to replace the battery soon because it is just a test battery.
I believe this camera is now no longer manufactured so there are good deals to be made with this one. If you're looking for a camera that's simple to use with a very good zoom lens for your dollar, consider Nikon LiteTouch 110.
