I owned an Olympus SLR for decades and finally decided I wanted a lightweight point-and-shoot for less-dedicated photographic opportunities. Well, it's light. And it fits in my pocket. But for me it's been mechanically and electronically inconsistent, and the pictures are just not very good. I know I miss being able to control all my settings myself, but I just didn't expect the high percentage of pictures that come out with unsatisfactory exposure, field depth, focus, and so on. Frankly, I got better and more consistent photos with $5.00 drugstore throwaway cameras. That, plus poor battery life, frequent maintenance needs, and finally the failure of the flash unit has driven me back to the newer breeds of SLR ... and eliminated Olympus from consideration for that camera in the process.
