| blkane1's Full Review: Pentax PZ-1P Film Camera |
After some lengthy research, consulting professional photographers using a variety of 35MM SLR's, various magazine photo articles as well as my own experience, I concluded the Pentax PZ-1P to be the best truly all purpose camera (fully-auto; fully-manual; or mix of both) for under $500...(just add lenses). I was stunned at the quality of the pictures I get (simply using kodak 400) and I am not a professional photographer by any means!
No pictures I have ever seen can compare with the picture quality of the Pentax PZ-1P (lay aside digital who's better quality must be viewed on a computer or other digital imaging source...which limits how one views your photographs..35MM prints are still superior to any of the digital printing...and, alot cheaper too). Regardless of the speed of moving objects in view, this camera can be fully adjusted to catch all or part of the image in a frozen focus using its "hyper focus" feature. The shutter on this camera is super fast (takes 4 frames per second, not just 2) allowing a whole role of 24 exposures to be taken in just 6 seconds! Many 35 MM camera's boast that they are "fully" programmable...but most have basic parameters or limitations pre-selected...this camera is completely both...no fixed limitations which means your range of settings are wide open for whatever type of photography you are doing..from close-ups to panaramics. You can even add on one of those 600MM lenses if you wanted to!
This auto-focus, auto-zoom SLR is a bargain value for what you get in return, and can handle any tasks beginning from the most basic (it's very user friendly) to the most advanced in SLR photography...Just compare the specs. to any camera, Wow! what a capability range!
As always, when you buy any high end camera, make sure you know it is USA certified...not a "gray" import. While some may be ok, there's often little recourse if something goes wrong. I am sure you will be happy with the photo's this camera takes for many years to come.
