If you are looking for a camera for serious amateur or semi-pro photography, this is the camera for you. The autofocus system is quick and responsive. The metering system is dead on, especially when using Fuji Velvia slide film. The available amount of Pentax lenses, and third party lenses for cheap, make it extremely economical.
From personal experience, it is very durable and after many hard beatings in the field neither hasn't broken yet.
The camera "fits" very well into the hand, making the weight of it not too much of an issue, in fact at times you may forget that you are holding a professional camera in your hand.
There are 15 Pentax-Functions. They allow the user to manually select and change options on the camera such as shutter speed increments or turning off that annoying "In focus" Beep.
