| vdipiet's Full Review: Kyocera FX-3 Super 2000 Film Camera |
This is a sweetheart of a camera. I purchased my first one in 1990 and gave it to a lady friend a couple of years ago because she didn't have a camera. I use Contax cameras which are great. With the Yashica FX 3 Super 2000 you don't need batteries to run the whole show. A colleague of mine who is a professional photographer was in another town taking pictures when his do all camera ran out of batteries and the replacements were defective. He borrowed a friends FX3 and was amazed at the results. The pictures he got back were tack sharp and the camera was a joy to use. This set me to thinking about my old Yashica and I started to look around for another one. Not so many stores have them in stock anymore since Kyocera no longer produces them. I finally found an all black one that had been on the shelf for a few years in an electronics store. I got it for a very reasonable price and am glad I did. I take it to work with me each day. It weighs 16oz and the 50mm1.9ml lens while made out of plastic is decent optically. On weekends I use my RX and Aria. When it rains or when I go to work the Yashica has become my workhorse. The fact that it takes Zeiss lenses is a plus, a big plus. This is a good camera to have and use.
