| lorika's Full Review: Canon EOS Elan IIE Film Camera |
I have had my Elan IIE for... six years now. The only "problem" I've ever had with it is that there is some dust/debris inside the viewfinder. I'm not sure how it got there, but I've been told the camera has to be taken apart more than I'd like for it to be to fix something that doesn't bother me that much. No blemishes show on the prints or negatives, and it does not affect the quality of the camera function, so I'm leaving it alone.
I have used this camera in many capabilities- high school photography classes, yearbook pictures, personal snapshots, sports photography, professional advertising, college classes. It has performed flawlessly in each setting.
The camera is substantial feeling, solid enough to minimize shaking in lower light situations.
There is little-to-no shutter lag- when you press it, it will open.
The size is ideal. It has all of the capabilities of a much more expensive camera and isn't too bulky to carry around. It doesn't require lots of extra equipment for great photos, but it is compatible with a lot. I have some extra filters, a tripod, a couple of extra lenses, a separate flash, and the remote.
